Polite 3-step overdue-invoice reminders from Google Sheets, with dry-run mode on by default.
Stop writing awkward "just following up" emails. This n8n workflow reads your invoice sheet every weekday. It sends each overdue client the right reminder (friendly at 3 days, firm at 10, final at 21), then records it in the sheet.
- Works with the included Google Sheets template, or the Invoices tab of the Freelancer Finance Tracker.
- Sends from your own email through SMTP: Gmail/Workspace, Outlook/365, Fastmail and others.
- Dry-run mode on by default. Every reminder comes to you until you are happy with it.
- Skips Paid, Disputed, Hold and Void rows. Handles partial payments, cooldown between reminders, a max-emails-per-run cap and weekends.
- Editable templates with placeholders for client, invoice, amount, due date, days overdue and payment link.
Tested: the decision logic has automated tests. The full workflow ran in n8n 2.40.6 against a test mail server.
